A Night for the Girls

The Everyday Foundation’s Be-You-Tiful event reached new heights with over 50 women in attendance during their recent November event. The annual event is a favourite evening of the year with businesses and volunteers coming together to provide an opportunity for women in the community doing it tough to be pampered with haircuts, pedicures and free shopping.

Lead Pastor of Suncoast Church, Chloe Gullo, who helps run the event particularly loves the evening and the difference it makes for people.

“We invited women to come along and be spoilt. Often the attendees don’t have access to make up and skincare and we make a space for them to come and feel special,” noted Chloe.

“We got told that someone said that they hadn’t felt like a woman in years, and we love being able to bless them with a lovely memory. The evening is about giving dignity to ladies who often have to take care of everyone else’s needs and put their own aside.”

Partnering with local businesses such as Bluebird Co and Noosa Basics for supplies, attendees were able to put together a goodie bag to take home with them. Other businesses volunteered their services so that women could get a haircut, manicure, make up and facials. Attendees could also shop at the free op shop to refresh their look.

“We really wanted these ladies to feel loved and it’s so heartening hearing the positive feedback afterwards. One lady told me this was the best night she’s had in years, and she couldn’t believe that it was all free.”

The event was held in Nambour where the Everyday Foundation hosts its meal support kitchen Daily Bread twice a week.

“We took a lot of time to set up the space to delight our guests from the moment they walk in.”

“We’re so grateful for the team that came together to make this event possible from the business owners donating their time, goods and services to our incredible team of 25 volunteers.”

The event has been a highlight in the Everyday Foundation’s calendar for three years and lives out its vision of helping the people of the Sunshine Coast have a future filled with hope, not restricted by the needs of today.

“It’s such an honour to be involved in the event and it’s my hope that we can grow it each year to get more businesses involved so that even more women can be blessed and feel loved.”
